Peter continues our study of Ephesians looking at chapter 2 v 11-13 and how we have all been made into one new people in Christ. Our belonging is based on our heart and spirit, not our anatomy! God looks at our heart, Men look at outward things. In heaven we will all be equal.
Peter spoke about wrong thinking, class and hierarchy. (Jews and Greeks/Gentiles).
Unity is the key discussion point. Here are some questions.
In what ways did you realise that you had 1st C Jewish/ Gentile/ Greek thinking?
Dr Martin Lloyd Jones: “There are people who are much more loyal to a church tradition or denomination than they are to the Lord Jesus.” Do we hold any of these traits in our church?
Dr Martin Lloyd Jones: “He took hold of Abraham. Not because there was anything particularly good about Abraham; he was a pagan amongst other pagans. God called him out and said: I have set my eye on you, I am going to bless you, I pledge myself to you.” God says this to you too – how should we react?
