10th January 2010 - Dave Harper - Vision for 2010 (pt1)

[Unfortunately, due to technical difficulties, it was not possible to record the meeting this morning.]

Dave preached on being a people who come to a place of corporate faith to see the things of the kingdom of God. There is a release of the kingdom into our midst when we are united together in faith.

Faith sees with the eyes of the heart into the unseen realm. This is the realm of God’s kingdom which Jesus said was accessible. We are to seek first the Kingdom of God, setting our minds on things above and not on the things below.

Jesus said we are blessed who believe but do not see. (John 20:29). The seen things are transient whilst the unseen are eternal. We walk by faith and not by sight (last verse of 2 Cor 4 and 2 Cor 5:7).

To be born again is to see the Kingdom of God, it is to have a living relationship with Jesus by the Spirit so we can hear his voice and see with his eyes. This is our call in God and worship and prayer are the activities that enable us to grow in these things.

“Faith is not the absence of doubt but the presence of belief. I may not always feel I have great faith. But i can always obey, laying my hands on someone and praying. Its a mistake for me to ever examine my faith. I seldom find it. It’s better for me to obey quickly. After it’s over I can look back and see that my obedience came from faith” Bill Johnson ‘When Heaven Invades Earth’ p 53

The prophetic sense throughout the meeting was to give ourselves fully to God, and that as we do so there is a storm breaking into change things such that God’s will may be fulfilled and we fulfil our destiny

Questions

The Bible teaches that faith operates in the realm of the unseen things rather than the seen things. The unseen things are superior and eternal, whilst the seen are immediate but transient (Read 2 Cor 4:18) This verse urges to fix our eyes on that which is unseen rather than what is seen. Why and How do we do that?

What difference do you think it would make if together we were all to fan into flame the gift of God that is within us ?

What difference do you think it would make if we had a strong sense of corporate faith and corporate anointing ?

Jon Batsford ‘s testimony gave us one big clue of how we can grow in faith and rather than being shaped by circumstances (the seen) we can be changed in the circumstances (walk in the unseen realm of faith). What was the big clue?? How does it affect you?

Pray for one another for grace and faith to fan into flame the gift of God within

God can do business with us in the place of prayer – please do encourage everyone to get to the prayer meeting on Sunday 17th January 2010 in Committee Room 1 at County Hall, 7.30pm – it is key.
