“I will deal with all your oppressors.
And I will save the lame and gather the outcast,
and I will change their shame into praise and renown in all the earth.”
Zephaniah 3:19
Social justice and God’s concern for the poor permeates the whole Bible.
At the foundation of Church in the Peak is the passage from Isaiah 41:17-18 which says that “the poor and needy search for water, but there is none; their tongues are parched with thirst. But I the LORD will answer them; I the God of Israel will not forsake them. I will make rivers flow on barren heights and springs within the valleys.”
We believe that God cares passionately about social justice for the poor and those in need. We aim to reach out and be-friend as many people as we can and to provide practical help and support to those in need. We currently have a number of areas where we are able to do this and we are exploring others all the time
